FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where can I purchase a Polywold tank?
A. Contact us for your local agent.

Q. What materials are used to make POLYWORLD products?
A. ll POLYWORLD products are made from only the highest quality food grade polyethylene, a durable plastic, from which water tanks have been made worldwide for over 50 years. As a market leader with extensive experience in testing and quality control, you can be assured that you are getting the best. Nothing is left to chance.

Polypropylene and other polymers can be used for industrial applications on request.

Q. Is polyethylene safe for water storage?
A. Yes. The high quality tank grade polyethylene we use at POLYWORLD is specially formulated for water storage. It is completely food-grade, compliant with the Australian Standards AS2070 and AS4020 for Drinking Water and Food Contact. The tank grade polyethylene also inhibits light, so is resistant to algae growth. High quality tank grade polyethylene has a UV stabiliser designed to handle the harsh Australian sun.

Q. Will POLYWORLD water tanks make my water taste or smell?
A. No. The polyethylene used to make all POLYWORLD products is food-grade, doesn't react with the water in any way and therefore doesn't give off taste or odour.

Q. How do I ensure my water stays clean?
A. Refer to our Accessories page for information about Water Diverters and Filters.

Q. Do I need a filter for my tank?
A. Often water quality varies, and the addition of a water filter will improve the quality of your water.
Extra outlets are able to be installed at bucket height for the addition of taps or water filters.

Q. Do I need a tank stand for my tank?
A. To gravity feed into your house, the tank outlet needs to be higher than your tap. Another option is to install a pump, which also can give more water pressure and which is often more economical.

Q. What's the delivery time?
A. Most of our orders are delivered within five to ten working days. However, urgent orders are our specialty. some orders may take a little longer, depending on availability.
